A campaign based on the principles of honesty, integrity and respect!
I currently serve the Town of Searsport as the Chief of Police and the Director of Public Safety. I am married to my lovely wife, Jessica, and we have two adult sons. Our oldest is a high school woodshop teacher, and our youngest is currently serving in the United States Navy, stationed in Coronado, California.
I am a United States Air Force veteran and have over thirty years of experience in law enforcement, eighteen of which have been administrative or supervisory. I have a strength in building positive relationships with community members, with community agencies and with my fellow officers. I have served in the board of non-profit agencies, am a member of the American Legion, have worked extensively with victims advocates, and have successfully managed large fiscal budgets.
With the ever-changing dynamics around policing, I have kept my knowledge current through higher education. After earning an associate's and bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, I obtained my master's degree in Criminal Justice from Norwich University in Vermont. I was also fortunate enough to attend the FBI National Academy, Session 274, in Quantico, Virginia. With both my master's degree and the FBI National Academy experiences occurring within the last five years, I feel prepared to assume the responsibilities of the Office of Sheriff in Waldo County.
My strengths in leadership, communication, and fiscal responsibility, combined with my experience and education, are in line with the future needs of the Sheriff's Department. I am incredibly proud and honored to have your consideration for the Office of Sheriff in Waldo County. I could not think of a better county to live and work in.
